  • Maybe no one does surveys to find out how many women read comics BECAUSE that would mean they'd have to change. Maybe they don't want to. I imagine most of these things/companies are huge boys' clubs and I doubt they'd want to have 'girl-orientated' titles on their lists because boys sneer at all things female-related. Just look at how boys react to Yaoi.

  • I think they assume that they are catering for the female demographic by producing Spiderman Loves Mary-Jane comics.

    Hm.

    I will ask my comic shop for their figures next time I'm in. They should be able to check out pretty quickly how many girls have standing orders, at the very least!

  • Hi,I like your podcast. Funny and a different pov from the other comic pods.
    It's strange that they aren't doing female comic fan surveys since it does appear to be potentially big market. Somewhat"female friendly"comics appear now and then, mostly independent. Usually they don't seem to do so well, but I think it's lack of advertising or not enough support from dealers, after all it's a business they are running and it's easiest to stock and sell for guys, cause they are the ones who visit comic stores. Hope DC's Minx line does well.
    As you must know by now, yes people die all the time in Exiles and are usually replaced at the end of the present mission. Part of the "fun."
    Foster's is my recent new fave cartoon, Bloo cracks me up. Ben10's okay.
    And thanks for my new "crotchvision". I've never noticed guys crotch shots til you mentioned it on your pod. Now I get the occasional psychic poke in the eye. Is that what's it like for females concerning boob shots?
